The Map of Longobard Routes allows visitors—using two search methods (visual via the map and text-based)—to discover key European sites that preserve the legacy of the momentous Lombard migration along the "geocultural corridor" spanning Europe; to learn about museums, historical archives, monuments, and artworks that bear witness to the evolution of Lombard culture—the "primary root of European culture, later developed by the Carolingians"; and to appreciate the identity as well as the natural and productive characteristics of each territory along the itinerary (the "Identity Clusters"). Finally, it enables users to plan a travel route to experience these captivating sites firsthand.
