Blog: A Driver of Development

Proposals and contacts for developing new initiatives

The blog associated with the "Longobard Ways across Europe" itinerary workshops aims to provide—primarily for young Europeans, educational institutions at all levels, and universities—a space for information and the exchange of knowledge regarding the values of Longobard civilization as a fundamental root of European culture, as well as the principles of the "Cividale Charter." This document was drafted in 2005 by young people from universities and European associations who gathered for the 3rd "Young People of Europe" International Meeting in Cividale del Friuli—the seat of the first Duchy established by the Longobards within their nascent Kingdom of Italy.

The Blog’s operational proposal also aims to foster the development of relationships and youth-led projects across various fields, such as:

  • the exchange of information and sharing of knowledge regarding current local realities;
  • the conception and implementation of projects—developed by educational institutions, youth associations, and individual young Europeans—focusing on history and the environment; these may relate to Longobard civilization or to other historical, cultural, and environmental themes of shared interest;
  • the conception and implementation of academic research initiatives;
  • the representation of specific sites along the Itinerary through various artistic expressions (narrative tourism, photography, cinema, architecture, visual arts, sculpture, theater, music, dance, etc.);
  • the identification of complementary educational activities of mutual interest.

Of particular interest may be ideas and proposals for developing activities linked to new artisanal, agricultural production, and agri-food ventures—areas where young people can try their hand and identify new opportunities.

The blog’s activities will be overseen by experts tasked with providing suggestions and operational guidance to facilitate the implementation of programs and projects.
